However I hate the vicar aesthetics so if I pick Karna I've got to keep her unpromoted until I get back to Grans and she levels fast enough.
At this stage all Sarah does is heal so a second healer could be useful (by the end of chapter 1 in SF1 you have 3 healers, here 20 levels in I still only have one!). I don't like the Gladiator attack animation and will use Jaha as a Baron so won't pick Randolph. I'm unusual in that I nearly always pick Eric, my reasoning for this is he's so much better than the other knights (always loved the knights since SF1) and I love getting a kick-ass Pegasus knight as soon as possible. Can anyone recommend hanging onto him or give ideas as to how to keep him alive? In the past I've never managed to use him for too much longer post-promotion anyway. He was doing okay but now in every singe battle he gets sniped by a magic user, he's level 16 with 9HP and is falling behind. Slade is also 21 so if I don't promote him he won't get any MP. May is 19 and can't use the Robin arrow if I don't promote her. Is there any real reason to wait? Bowie and Luke are level 21 and if I don't promote I can't use the broadsword. I have always promoted at level 20 and apart from the first time I played it not found the late game hard). I always have gone sorcerer, I feel like Desoul is unreliable and Blaze as the game goes on gets less useful, but I'm still in awe of Desoul from when I first got destroyed by Kane as a kid in SF1 and it's unique to Kazin in this game. I haven't played through SFII in well over 10 years - I still remember it too well though as I've got all these obscure mithrils at this point! I'm just at the Fairy Woods (no grinding) around levels 18-21.
